Yet another silly question by me... I am curious though: How exactly do you sell a domain?
So I have a number of my domains parked with Sedo.com and purchased through 1and1, say I were to sell one of them - How do I complete the transaction?
I am assuming it is related to "transferring" the domain. I am new with this whole this and trying to learn as much as possible.
Thanks a lot!
Anyway you see fit, really!
Depends on the domain, depends on how quickly you want the sale and depends on how much money you want for it. You can sell it right here at Namepros, but expect to be offered reseller rates.
Sedo and Afternic are again alternatives. There are a number of domain auction platforms posted all over the net, just type domain auctions into google and hopefully you should find what you're looking for. Moniker and Pool.com are also popular alternatives.
You could contact end-users, have a look through the pinned threads and you will find some useful info on conducting research on your target market. In short, do a few searches on Google and try and locate end-users who offer a product or service related to your domain. Write up an e-mail and then send it off to them. Be polite, be courteous and be concise. You don't need to go into too much detail about why the domain is valuable (check out ElliotsBlog.com, he's done a nice piece on selling a domain to an end-user just recently).
Popular domaining newsletters are also an alternative, providing you have a quality name. I believe the likes of Page Howe and Rick Latona publish daily lists, I'm not sure how easy it is to submit domains for publication onto these lists or whether it is even possible. Other lists specialise on particular types of domain e.g. ccTLDs or like Page Howe, GeoDomains.
I guess you could start a blog as well. Perhaps that is one of the better ways to move domains on, providing you are willing to update it regularly.
Or you could just sell it to me, what's the name?
