How do you keep track of all your domains?

I've been thinking recently on a better way to keep track of domains besides manually keeping track in Excel.

Sure some registrars help with this but unless you are tied up with one registrar, it doesn't go well, plus they don't have a good way of keeping track of expenses and profits.

How do you keep track of your domains? If it's software, which? Why do you choose such means?

For .pl I use a single registrar - it helps that these domains are free to transfer and only have a 5-day lock.
But my gTLD / ccTLD portfolio is a mess. I try my best with excel but it's a pain nevertheless.

I am always just looking at what is expiring soon but do get a few surprise renewal notices to say i have paid up on odd registrars when forgotten. I am not that organized everything is vaigly memorized I never kept a phone book or diary either. Mega memory lol actually it is full have scratch to head for scatch drive. I pretty much know all the expiry dates of domains i am chasing though.

Pretty similar, I also jot into a calendar though the days around when a domain will drop just in case even though I never needed the reminder because I remember anyway.

If you aren't making sales on a regular basis then your domains are nothing more than a liability. They aren't serving you. What's the point in having 200 domain names and they aren't growing in value, or delivering a return on investment?

Quality over quantity is my mantra. I focus on domain names worth $5000 or more. And I set the price point because I know what I bring to the table when it comes to the domains in my portfolio. I rotate between domains as I sell them because I need a set amount of time to develop value around them.

Timing is everything. My volume is low, my ROI is high. And that's how I keep up with my domains.
I focus on 10k+, anything under that doesn't exite me, not even a little. However, value has nothing to do with this thread we are purely focusing on how you keep track of your domains, it doesn't matter what the value is or how many you have.

I use the chalkboard in the kids playroom. Handy for quick modifications, but it's a b!tch when they erase it to play hangman.. luckily the hangman portion always seems to be on the drop section.

Because I also keep many notes about each domain on the one line, I've found that I need to use my 42-inch TV monitor just to read and edit the spreadsheet effectively.

Just how old ARE you? :-P

jk. As for myself, I just keep text files on my desktop broken down by registrar (some files combine two registrars). But I have fewer than 200 names. Is it efficient? Just barely. Otherwise I would recommend a proper spreadsheet.

In my opinion, Excell will be a good choice. And also it would be easier if you gather all your domain names with one registrar.

A script tracking all domains, populating a db that connects to a UI where I can make changes manually when needed. I've set it to mail me a daily report about possible issues, upcoming renewals, listings etc.

Currently experimenting with a bot that's watching my inbox so I don't have to add them myself to the backend anymore. I'd say atm it's 80% automated.
Is that a custom made script?

One registrar approach works for me. Currently have 9000 names with GD and I download the cvs file from time to time for my own records and analytics.

I do not own a bulk sum of domains, I register and go for very specific domains, on a total of 3 different registrars...keep life less complicated just logging in using the registrar manager

I use Notion to keep track of my Domains + some resources and tools I use.
