How do you find out about domain names that are dropping soon?

I've been browsing these forums and noticed people picking up domain names that have just dropped - how do you find out about these domains that are dropping?

Is it done through the registrar? I use Namecheap.

I frequently use expireddomains.net, if you signup which is free you get a lot more options which are really useful. You could also try domainhole.com which I use from time to time.
