Hi Guys,

I have a 3 char domain of LLN.com format. I myself purchased it at $800 few years back. I keep getting low ball offers every week.

How should i respond. I have requests for giving away for free(for student project!) to $150. Should i just ignore! are reply with my intended price. Now a way days its become a nonsense for me that i find one or two offers every time i login. I have no plans to selling anything below $3000. I dont want to use whois protection as dont want to hinder real buyers.

If it's coming from SEDO and I don't want to lock up my counter for 7days then I ignore the offer. If I don't care about locking up my counter, but continue to get low-balled, then I cancel communication.

If it comes via Voodoo or email, then I try to find out who they are; sometimes I reply w/out knowing. It really depends what I'm after at the time (new acquisitions) and if it could bring me close to either closing or putting a deposit on said name(s). How likely is the name going to command a larger price? What are the buyers alternatives and what are the end users? Am I willing to risk loosing $x,xxx+ in sales for something I want right now and that has already cost me $xxx or more?

Depending on the name, I would keep it. IF you received lots of low offers its because Domainers seeing value in the name and they try to get it at reseller price.

or

There is some End-Users that are intrested in the name but don't have the money.

exemple: I own a bikes store and I want Bikes.com.
I may not be rich enough to afford it but I would try anyways!

:P

I've had 3 offers in 5 days on SEDO. One for $69, one for $70 and one for $100. I usually don't bother with them but this time i countered by adding 2 zeros on the ends. Silence!!!!

No one wants to pay more than they have to, but that doesn't mean they don't have the means to go higher.

You don't want to waste a lot of time on unqualified offers, but they are worth responding to. We regularly see $200 offers turn into 4 or 5 figure offers.

I accept them and then report on namepros with an extra zero added to the end.

to bring back on track...

I recently sold a NNL com in $,$$$ range, on the forums.

it was just a matter of fielding the offers, until someone was willing to pay more.
