How Do Would I Properly Begin Writing Movie Reviews

I love a good film, going to see them at the theater and picking one out from my extensive at home. I would really like to start a blog or website where I review the movies. I was wondering if anyone could help with the basics of getting started (not web design, about reviewing the movie) and if there are any guidelines to help.

Hi Micro,

Welcome to NP. You somehow ended up in the wrong category. Reviewing movies isn't what we're doing here and tremendously differs from reviewing a website. I guess the best tip i can give you is to Google for movie review sites, read your local newspaper and listen/read Ebert and Roeper ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ebert++roeper&btnG=Search )

Site wise, you're going to have a tiny problem. IMDB is pretty good at what they're doing and there are tons of other movie review sites out there. Logically, if you're able to put your own, custom spin on reviews you'd still have a chance. Combine movie clips with the reviews, be unique in design, wording and set your standards to critical.
