How do I release ownership of a domain?

Did some research before getting a letter and found out that a few of my domains have trademark issues. So, to be proactive, how do I release ownership permanently with ICANN and/or each registrar? I would rather do this immediately versus try to sell them to someone else (I am a nice guy!)

You can ask your registrar to delete your domain.
