1/ Park the name with a parking service like sedo / Domainsponsor
These places pay a percentage of the advertising revenue
derived from ads placed on a page displayed when some one
visits your domain
2/ Make your park page ,similar to the above ,only you create your own small Website with ads and get the revenue

3/ Develop a full featured web-site ,and either sell services or products
and also have some ads and paid links

4/ Develop as a full feature eCommerce site selling ,products and services
in a online shopping environment

5/ At any of the above stages of development and Value adding,you can
make money by reselling the Domain/Site for an increased value
above the purchase price.
This however depends on several factors
a/ Keyword Desirability of the name
b/ Amount of Traffic (I.e. People visiting site)
c/ Return from site (Income for Ads,Sales or Paid Links)
d/ Current Demand for similiar names
e/ Current Search Engine Ranking
f/ Number of Sites linking to your site
g/ How keen is the buyer for name

1/ Register a name like "PayPalFees.com" because of Legal hassles
2/ Pay too much for Domain Name
3/ Get scammed by Email and Other types of fraud

No 5 - selling is the most direct way to make money (directly related to your domain with out much else work)

The firstthing to do is park it.

Then list it for sale.

Then develop it if you want.

Axilant and I agree that you should develop each of your names to SOME extent (whether it just be plastering some ads on or installing a forum real quick), to give it much value.

IMO, someone that doesnt understand how to develop the domain name they bought, shouldnt even be in the business. If you buy a domain name, you should understand how to develop the name yourself. So in otherwords, dont buy a domain name that you have no clue what it could be used for And dont use a dash in the name!

By dash you mean a hyphen?
Actually, if the name is formed out of two words I think that search engines like it more if they're separated by a hyphen.

Developing a thriving website is often more rewarding and profitable than just selling a domain. Unless it's a really really good one, which it probably isnt if you're just learning as all the good ones were registered decades ago.
