How did I lose a GoDaddy closeout?

So I am waiting for a domain to go to closeouts after auction and I picked it up right when it goes to $11, pay and get my order confirmation. I check back later at my won section and see its not there. I go to my didn't win section and its there listed at $11. Please tell me how I lose a closeout????? I have been buying domains on the TDNAM for 4 years and this has never happened before . This isn't like registering a new domain and it being registered somewhere else while its in your cart. The second you click buy now its temporarily reserved for you to buy. How did someone else buy it????? I smell something very fishy.

Day 41 The closeout auction ends.
Day 43 We assign the domain name to the winner of the expired domain name auction, backorder, or closeout. If there are no bidders, we return the domain name to the registry.
Note: A registrant can renew an expired domain name at no extra cost up to day 18. If they renew an expired domain name anytime between day 19 and day 42, they must also pay an $80.00 redemption fee. The domain name cannot be renewed after day 42.

So... Probably it was exactly day 41-42 and owner renewed the domain...
Just look who is the new owner if it's not under privacy.

I just purchased this domain a couple of hours ago. The domain is still under godaddy redemption privacy so it has not been renewed or transferred. You get an email stating your auction has ended if they do.

Anybody else ever have this happen?

It has happened to me in the past on a few occassions, somewhat frustrating.

Sounds like you and someone else purchased it at the exact same time and if that is what happened then whoever was a split second slower will get a refund.

Its happen to me a few times.

Whenever this has happened to me, GoDaddy have sent me an email telling me the existing owner has renewed the domain, although usually they have transferred it out for no extra Redemption Fee.
