I created a facebook group that has around 1500 members and I wanted a domain that directly redirects there to make it easier for the folks.

The thing is the domain is already registered. The group is called born in europe and the domain would be BornInEurope.com
How much would that cost me(an approximate is fine) and should I simply e-mail the owner or call him?

Thanks!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

proper way to do for me is contact the current user and offer him to buy the domain.

Wait for drop. The possible mid next year or maybe never ~
Or you can contact him here http://whois.domaintools.com/born in europe.com
delete the spaces.
You should too if your interested
3rd option would be too buy another extension.
As its a group you can get the .org which is better and relevant.
Goodluck :)

Contact current owner and make your proposal. That is the best way. Someone else might intercept it

According to DNscoop the value is $0 which is good for you.
According to puresilva.com no inbound links.
According to Estibot
.com takenWhois .net availableRegister! .org availableRegister!
.info availableRegister! .us availableRegister! .tv availableRegister!
Domain: bornineurope.com
Keywords bornineurope
Frequency (MSN) 33
Backlinks 0
PageRank 0
Alexa Rank Not Ranked
Traffic (Visits / Day) 0

http://EstiBot.com Domain Appraisal USD reg fee

So concluding my investigation the owner should be happy to get an offer of $10.00

:tu:

But it's all up to the owner in the end.
Good luck! :)

The value of the domain depends on the buyer, and in this case its you. So you should ask yourself... "How much will I pay for it."

And regarding the other extension, dont even think about it.

If targetting intercontinental visitors then it's best to stick with .com or if its noncommercial then .org is second best.

If your target group is european people then I would advice to reg. BornInEurope.eu or BornInEu.eu both are free as of speaking, but hurry, others reading this might just reg. it to sell it to you. :)

All this is ofcourse just my humble opinion, I know many others would disagree. :)

Good luck and best regards,

As a general tip, if you find yourself in a similar situation in the future, I would strongly suggest that you not post the name of the domain name you want publicly, at least before the sale has completed. Otherwise, the owner could find out that you want to buy the domain name before you make the offer and may raise the minimum asking price accordingly.

agreed...keep things on the QT until you get the name. at least not post it. posts come up in searches. 100 if its not being used would probably be accepted. i would offer 60 first, then 100. and put it on backorder.
OR...since this name needs dev to make it in the rankings anyway, get the .net.

contact the seller and then ask price and give the money with paypal and he gives you the domain

Shouldnt give out the name you want to purchase so soon, I would register bornineurope.net / bornineurope.org right now before someone else register it. .net and .org is still good, maybe you will like .org cause of the organization part.

contact the current user and see what they want for the name, or wait for it to drop

It's always hard to purchased already registered domain... price might be too high especially if the owner don't have plan to sell it.
