Hi to every one on this lively forum. Its really a cool place to talk on domain industry.

I have been thinking to start some kind of online business. After some search, I found Domain Registration business is not a bad option. But the problem is that i knew little about this industry. I need some kind of litereature to study.

Moreover, I would like your experiences and suggestions regarding Domain Reselling. Also please mention that which companies are suitable to do business with them.

Thanks for your contribution and time giving.

GoDaddyGoDaddy
Enom has a reseller program, and Godaddy has a turnkey reseller program (wild west domains)

Im not sure what research you did, but there is very little money in domain reselling...

Consider this... the registry charges the registrar $6.25 (right now) for a .com....well... I buy them at $6.95 - thats a .75 cent margin for the registrar (this doesnt include their costs...)

This is from the largest domain registrar in the world.... in all honesty, there are much more profitable business ventures to get into then domain reselling. I think the time where that was viable, has since passed.

I believe it all depends on where you are trying to sell these domain names. If you are selling domain names that have relevance to your local area, and there is a market for domain name sales in your area, you can do quite well depending on the names you are trying to sell.

But then again if you are selling the domain names to a specific area (state, city, etc) you'll only have so many names to go around (marketable domain names that people actually want)

I believe there is a misunderstanding here... A domain reseller - is basically a domain registrar....

Is the OP asking about becomming a "Domainer" or starting a Reseller program, to sell domain names, hosting, ect?

DomainSpade is correct.

He has been here way long than me. I am the kid here haha, only 14 so i'd recommend you listen to him. He is right though that time has come and gone. You likely won't be making $xxxx on every domain sale now or even every site.

Again he's right on regastration, if your like me and are stupid enough to stick with godaddy (i like support) but hate prices and you buy enough domains your self that you well save money than it's worth it mabey.

Again if you can find a way to make a profite than all for you but most smart domainers know where the cheaper domains are while still keeping the high quilty.

On a side note WHY DOES EVERYONE WHO DOMAINS LIVE IN AZ haha. sorry DS that was at you btw haha. Oh well i can't blame you just moved there my self haha.

John, LoL.

Im originally from San Diego, but moved out here for College. Stayed here for the girlfriend and just waiting on her to finnish up. Honestly, I only know of 2 other domains in the phoenix area ... So im not sure who your talking about. I know there are quite a bit in LA and a few in San Diego (including NameTrader).

Another thought.. GoDaddy is actually based here in Phoenix.. Several locations all over the place (I used to work for them).
