For me this is the worst year in my domaining, unfortunate part is not even received any queries through whois or parking page.

I received like 6-10 inquiries / offers. Most of them are under $100. My concerns is that: if the name is already 9 year old, my total renew cost has been accumulated around $100, why buyer still offers $50, or $75. Don't they know the real cost?

I've had several inquiries this year but after providing them with my asking price 99% of the time I never hear from them again. I've even went back to them weeks later to see if they were still interested etc., nothing.

If they do reply back their offer is so far off I can't get them up to a price I'd be willing to sell.

I could have more sales if I just wanted to flip for a few hundred bucks but my targeted market is end users. I also have a primary business that I dedicate most of my time to therefore they're finding me to inquire about the price as I do very little out bound.

It has been a good time to pick up some domains on the cheap but for now just waiting on the right buyer to come along and some kind of turn around.

The best thing about domaining is that ya never know what tomorrow may bring... :)

So to honestly answer your question it hasn't been a good year to date for me.

Last year (2015) was my best year ever. This year (2016) is on pace to be better than 2015.

The biggest difference for me is that I'm selling at more reasonable prices instead of holding out for bigger offers. It's astonishing how much money you can make in this business when you say "yes" to more deals. It sounds simple, but I've overlooked it for years and kept trying to get the best-possible price out of every deal. That caused me to lose deals and a lot of money. I've finally learned my lesson and earning more than I ever have in my life.

14 sales this year
average price 1,052.50

I have about 550 domains.

I have done zero outbound marketing this year. All inbound sales. I keep planning on doing some outbound but my main job has been demanding this year. I really havent bought a whole lot this year or put in much work.

I feel like I could be having a much better year if I did some outbound.

I've also walked away from alot of offers this year trying to knock one out of the park with a five figure sale.

June and July were completely dead for me though. Things tapered off in May. Everyone seems to be saying the same. Bad summer so far.

The Year started strong with my first 5 figure sale followed by a four figure sale. I unfortunately had lots of debt so it went towards that. I did however mange to purchase a name to represent my business. I still have debt to pay off so I'm hoping to get another wind of sales.

I also sold another 4 figure domain this month too that chip a little at my debt..

I think managing my finances well, will determine my success in this business(saving, investing, paying taxes and staying out of debt) Build a surplus.

Its my first year, started in february, so I cannot compare it with previous years.

Overall, I managed to make a few sales to cover my initial stupid spending on regs without having any knowledge. Just had a few sales here and there in the last 2 months, mostly low or mid $xxx. These put me in the profit. From what I read, being in the profit after 6 months isn't that bad :)
