advice Houston Texas - What to do and see ?

We plan to make a one week trip to Houston TX and surrounding areas in May.

Suggestions what To Do and Where To Go?


I was in Houston once in 1983 but i know things have been changed since.

I agree! Whataburger is the best burger you can get anywhere in Texas . Grab yourself an ice cold Shiner and a #1 with cheese and you will have the true Texas experience!

Definitely check out the Galleria, and their is a restaurant down the street that I love called Grotto. Great Italian food. The Science Museum is great, and there is also a children's museum if you are bringing children. Discovery green has no shortage of activities for both children and adults.

If you go to San Antonio, you'll definitely enjoy the riverwalk. If you're looking for a nice place to stay, try Hotel Contessa. If you're looking a nice romantic spot- there is this lovely little "Marriage Island" that would be great for pictures, proposals, etc. And maybe a boat ride.

Austin's music and are seen is wonderful!

Great to hear you're taking a visit to Texas John! Everyone else pretty much covered all the best things to do around Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. If you like good music then Austin would be a must visit. If you're the party/drinking type then there are plenty of good places to check out around Austin on the weekends. The weather should be great in May so there will be no shortage of fun stuff happening, lol.
