Hosting joomla?

Does anyone know of a free host that will work with joomla, safe mode needs to be off.
OR if anyone has a solution to hosting joomla with safe mode on?
OR is there anything similar to joomla that will work with safe mode on?

My current free host gives me 5 gigs of storage and 20 gigs of bandwith. I don't necessarily need all of that but i don't want like 50mb of space and 1 gig of bandwith.

You may be able to find a free host that has fantastico, from there you can install joomla. Usually the scripts available in fantastico will work fine and are setup for the server config. I have never had trouble doing so with a server using safe mode on.

Hmm well im currently using insanegb lol, I never used the fantastico thing because I never saw it, thanks for that, I managed to install joomla without it, but I cant install modules or components, maybe fantastico can help with this. :hehe:

Well if you want to install components and modules on your current installation itself you have to have CHMOD set to 777. This you can do via your FTP or by just using your File Manager on cpanel
