I received in a Uni Newsletter that .HOMES has been released without restrictions. Did anyone else see that and try to register any domains. It was tough going. Most were already taken or very premium prices from the registry. I did manage to get OFFSHORE and LAKESIDE for discounted reg fee :)

Whilst I was searching. I found RETAIL.DOMAINS available, so took that too :)

I considered superb but passed. It's a better than average domain IMHO. I like coffee for some quirky reason. I think smartest is a bargain when smart is $600k. Anybody seeing smart at $600k might well consider smartest as a cheaper alternative. Nice registrations overall.

Thank you. All synonyms for superb are priced at xxxx.

Tea.homes or even beer.homes are priced xxxx, but coffee โ˜• somehow fell through the cracks.

I can see โ˜•.homes as a coffee shop chain or supplier.

And, yes, with iot and smart home tech craze, smartest.homes made sense.

And classyhomes/com is a company, as I just looked up.

Overall though don't have much expectations for ngtlds ) probably another collector stuff to be subsidized by my .coms

I'm also at the very beginning to start to appreciate NGTLD's. But I'm about in the same frame of mind as you. I think .HOMES has great potential to be one of the bigger serious NGTLD's with widespread appeal. If I had a business related to residences, I would happily register a .HOMES domain matching my business name. I'd try to secure the .com also. I think the registrar has been quite greedy with what they have reserved, and the prices they are asking. IMHO.

I'm not hot on .homes I think .home would have been better, could also have been used for home pages.

Yeah, they are all over the place with prices.

At least all renewals are standard. And if they get that in $10-20 range they might be OK.

I agree that .home would be more versatile.

But, .homes works better for realty.

Agreed but most people buy one house so....

123MapleAve.home as opposed to 123MapleAve.homes

There are only so many real estate companies in the world and the extension needs as many users as possible or bankruptcy here we come.

Also MapleDots.home could work as a home page whereas MapleDots.homes would not.

If I was running the extension I would have opted for home instead of homes.

You are right.

Numberwise, home would have more uses.

But they would not mostly be worth paying xxxx for the use.

While if homes makes sense, then it can justify the price tag.

There are hundreds of thousands of property agents and many of them use homes as part of their brand.

I would like to take advantage of the growing trend of sharing economy and globally increasing house prices, so I registered Shared/Homes. I think it can be a good domain for a home sharing business targeting poor citizens, exchange students, tourists and so on. What do you think?

I was thinking of getting Immersive/Homes. (Regular rate:xf.smile:) but I didn't. Available as of this posting if anyone is interested.

I think it would be great developed as a 3d virtual tour site for homes. Imo

This is a very entertaining post, so I tried TINY and CONNECTED but they were gone.:xf.eek:

I remember reading about .HOME which was applied for by quite a few registries. Unfortunately delegation was postphoned, maybe forever, due to the threat of name collisions.

Many big corporations already use .HOME in their naming systems for their internal networks or intranets. Presumably including some of the companies that provide the backbone and security of the internet itself.

Nobody seemed to be sure how much chaos, conflict or crashes might happen if the extension suddenly went live. Too risky to try.

https://icannwiki.org/.home

Also, while there are some very clever registrations displayed here, everyone should be aware there is a lot of competition like .PROPERTY, .PROPERTIES, .REALTY and .REALESTATE (not sure if these are all live).

This page provides a handy link near the top to view the TLDs:

thanks. did not know about .home story. Wow!

regarding competition, .homes beats them all overall, as it is applicable not only to realty agents, but to builders, management companies, iot etc. And it has that warm feeling that makes a home different from a house. And it is shorter ) And if as you say .home is blocked, then at least it lack the plural/singular confusion.

Tiny is reserved, like many of the best combos, this is a relaunch, not a new release. They thought people would be lining up for .homes on the first release with high general reg., and such, they finally figured out how to create value in their extension by letting it grow organically thru a user base.
