1. SUB GEOS
For annual revenue on a developed site:
Big City GEO>Country GEO>State GEO

For sale value on an undeveloped site:
Country GEO>Big City GEO>State GEO

But I would suggest that there is something more valuable than Big City GEO: A generic word that is used in many city names, for example, "creek".

If you own creek.com you can develop multiple city subdomains; battle.creek, walnut.creek, etc.

Is this a logical thought?

I realize that subdomains are less brandable, particularly for offline advertising, but IMO the majority of city GEOs rely on organic traffic, and a sub has no distinct disadvantage here.

I own three domains with GEO sub potential and would love to hear what people think.

2. DERIDED EXTENSIONS
My domains are in the jpn.com and uk.com extensions which I know are derided by many, but I believe that the conventional wisdom of domainers is wrong on this, and that it is traffic that will ultimately determine value, and these domains are not offputting to organic traffic.

You're right that name hacks with dots in between words (or even worse, between letters) are hard to brand. For some products, this may work if they fall into the the same category in which the second level domain is a killer. However, in this case, one "creek" isn't the same as another. It's just a part of a name.

still liking hacks

Thanks. But surely with GEOs being able to have:

walnut.creek.com
mill.creek.com
battle.creek.com
johns.creek.com
cripple.creek.com
dawsons.creek.com

and hundreds more creek cities and towns...

means the branding negative are outweighed by the potential of many sites and the fact that the link love will be shared between them is great for SERPs. I dont think someone searching for Walnut Creek would be put off by the sub format?
