Holographic television, 2012?

I was quite surprised to see that the BBC ran a news report on these new televisions. The technology is amazing, has to be an incredibly lucrative industry once it takes hold. The news report can be seen here

I would agree with both of you. Either Holo or HG for the product. I'm thinking the new tech will definately be used in games as well as tv. I can also imagine some form of holographic poker room could be made using camera's to video the players and placing them in a holographic room of sorts.

Holographic TV in 2012? OK, I'm sure it won't be flooding the store in 2012, but the first commercial trial are predicted. For those still struggling with issues of planes, density and everything else that makes 3D filming , editing and viewing so different from 2D, holographic will be a heck of a challenge - although many insiders seem to think will prove less of a gimmick than 3D, Now there's going to be a composition/blocking challenge... thoughts anyone?

i believe such advances being accepted/implemented by the critical masses should be measured in increments of decades, Htv in every household ?

Give it 5 years plus to make any sort of impact in the marketplace...Look at ppl still just signing up for cable TV for the first time. Oh BTW I have Holosets.com

yeah, it'll take some time. I've got 3d-holo.com and 3d-htv.com. Ya never know.
