Hollywood writers going on strike !

Television and movie screen writers said Thursday they would go on strike for the first time in nearly 20 years in a dispute over royalties.

I don't know how it would affect film or prime-time TV production much since most studios have stockpiled dozens of movie scripts and TV shows have enough scripts or completed shows for six months at least usually.

Personally, I don't think the strike is going to be long-lived. Most of the stories I have seen about this subject have indicated that the writers are very reluctant to strike, which weakens their position a lot. I predict that this will last a couple of days, if there isn't some emergency agreement made beforehand.
