Hollywood Homophobic? Is Crash The Better Movie?

I have to admit I haven't seen Brokeback Mountain (tho I plan to once it's released on DVD) and with all the hype and pre-Oscar awards, I thought it was a shoo-in for Best Picture at the very least.

There was alot of talk tho that Hollywood (the Academy) tends to be a bit homphobic tho so I wondered if Brokeback would win.. and of course, Crash took the honors.

I've seen Crash and actually bought a copy of the Crash dvd recently. I love the movie and I applaud it's message regarding racism.

I just wonder: was it the better movie? Have you seen both Brokeback Mountain and Crash? What do you think?

Yeah, I was really impressed with it myself.. a really good cast and storyline.

I am going to rent Brokeback Mountain tomorrow. I know I loved Crash. They do tend to be homophobic which makes me wonder how Rent did. I loved the movie and I am sure the Academy didn't take a liking to it.
