We all know Google lost out big with facebook and microsoft gained a huge win with ads on facebook and a equity stake. One big deal by the big boys is a huge win but Google has many big deals.

Now that the news was released by facebook, Demand announces there ads and google. Google got a small win on this.

YOUR MAKING US LOOK BAD AND THE DOMAIN INDUSTRY BY THESE TATICS AND FACEBOOK NAME AND ETC. HOWEVER IF YOU CALL FACEBOOK UP, SAY YOUR SORRY TELL THEM TO DEVELOP THE .TV PLATFORM AND MAKE US HAPPY AND PROUD. FACEBOOK AND MICROSOFT COULD DO SOME BIG THINGS FOR YOU .TV NAME AND PLUS YOU AVOID ALL THE HASSLES OF A LAWSUIT AND FIX YOUR MISTAKE!

I am curious how the revenue share will work with demand media-I do not have a channel site through demand.

Facebook is up and coming and powerhouse .com. myspace is ok(even though I dislike them). Google can go after Ning and do something big with them.

Now back to .tv again....

What We need and hope they announce is that Google does an equity stake with Justin.tv and run ads for the sites, end users. Google and Justin.tv network(even though its small but its the thing for social networking). Micro and Facebook.tv(please again give up your domain and let them get the news out .tv).

This is what I want to see and why not having the 2 biggest players google and microsoft get the .tv up........It will happen I am confident on this...The question is when...Come next year-Frank will begin pushing .tv and backing come next year.. (I dont want this thread dedicated about Frank again like couple months ago) so lets keep to the points on the other topics above.

These are my predictions and I see this. Give up your facebook.tv name please!

According to the whois, it's owned by someone in Madison, WI who also has in their whois "Domain for sale, email/phone".

Believe me, if Facebook wanted their .TV name, it would be a WIPO slam dunk.

The reality is that many big web entities already have significant traction for their .com sites and don't want to confuse the marketplace. Expedia.com even sings the "dot commmmm" in their advertising jingle. They forward their .tv site to their .com site.

Without unique content on their .TV site, how does that benefit the extension anyway?

.TV will "make a name" from sites who specifically develop content for them. There are many sites already doing that - leveraging the rich media identity of the TLD - and many more in development. .TV sites without rich media content might as well be a .com.

I had a conversation with the owner of Facebook.tv a few months back who claimed they almost sold the name for $15,000 but the deal didn't work out. Good thing for them...but anyway, with "Next.tv", "Lazy.tv", "Eye.tv", "MGM.tv", "Reality.tv", partnering with HP/Compaq (Microsoft) coming VERY SOON!!!...I believe Facebook will be coming after Facebook.tv name in the near future. I agree, they should give the name up and we can all cross our fingers Facebook uses the extension. I have a "gut" feeling they will...as Microsoft enters into their world. I also have a feeling Myspace will use their .tv as the "New Internet" approaches us all.

I think facebook is entitled to there name and the owner carries a lot of risk on his shoulders.

I want facebook to have fun with entitled name and .tv. I guess I myspace will work but in couple years myspace users will be .tv users hopefully and be at Justin.tv

To the owners of facebook.tv just give up the namé.

Honestly, I doubt that will ever happen.

As long as they don't use it for social network related, they're pretty safe imho.

either way the owners of facebook.tv is holding the .tv platform for less growth and less growth. We are all impacted by this by the domain owner of facebook.tv

Don't get me wrong...I'm ALL about turning a profit, but this domain should be given or sold to Facebook for the sake of .tv and its followers no doubt.
