No.
It is still illegal regardless. If I pay to go to the movie it doesn't make it suddenly legal for me to go home and download it.

i personally cant see why if you delete it! but its diffrent for yuo, i can go and see the movie as many times as i want, but when yu pay to watch a movie yu see it ONCE!

And if Gandhi were still alive (physically) and had a yearly library card, which means he'd get to go to the library any time he wants for free using that card, would it be morally right for him to download the same literature in ebook format via bit torrent, because he could not be bothered going to the library?

now thats debatable... when i pay for my cinema card, it contributes to the cinema and the films i watch!

But his library card would have been free and it's a misuse of his privileges. However if he paid for it and part of the money goes to the authur why not? why shuoldn't he download the ebook then delete it in a few days?

I think you are very well capable of answering your own moral question, mate. :D

Yeah, I'd say that it's morally wrong. You mentioned that when you use your card, that the cinema DOES make some money off of it. No one makes money when you download it. You are downloading something that doesn't belong to you, something that you did not pay to receive - and something you didn't have permission to take.

It's plain and simple, in my opinion - taking something that you don't have permission to take is wrong.

This is an interesting question!

I have two thoughts...

1. If you paid* for the right to see every single movie that comes up for the next 12 months at the theater but decided instead to watch them at home (somehow)... well, that might not be such a bad thing. Keep in mind that you ONLY get to watch the movies that went to the theater and NOT those that went straight to DVD. You did NOT purchase the right to watch those. ;)

2. Now, in my mind... how you watch the movies at home is where a morality question comes into play. Down loading movies via bit torrent really has one and only one purpose and that is to enjoy a product/service for which one did not pay. So... if you engage in an illegal/immoral act... aren't you supporting/promoting that same illegal/immoral act??

If nothing else, you are giving the appearance of impropriety which is not good for one's reputation. :)

EDIT: Another question to ask is... exactly WHO got paid??

Don't forget that if anyone else were to watch the movie downloaded, it would void the "I already paid to see the movie" argument.

i wouldnt do it way too much at risk, and seeing it at cinema is always better

Just go to the cinema, its much better, and more fun :)

i would say even though you can see it for free, torrents are still illegal, regardless of the cinema pass you have. If you want to see a movie, its only legal for you to use this pass to go see it, not download it illegally from some torrent website

Ahh... good point! :tu:

But now, what if I go to Blockbuster and rent a movie?? Am I the only one who's allowed to watch it and the rest of my family has to wait in the kitchen? ;)
