Hey everyone,
I'm Craig from Northern Ireland. I've been a member before but mostly just lurked and soaked up the info. I was around when .mobi launched and bought a couple - I managed to offload them pretty quickly though and made a small profit before I got burned. I only dipped my toe in and left again but always remained interested. The market always seemed so saturated though for .com and I really don't feel like joining the fiercely competitive market. I will buy a few, possibly for my own development, but i'll take time to find those.
I've always loved the .co.uk extension and it's a whole different ballgame I think. In a way, it seems harder to find or know the decent generics or what the end user is looking for. Premium .coms don't necessarily equate to premium UK names. Even the mid/lower tier names don't always fit with .co.uk. Of course, there is also a huge end price difference no matter what. It's very interesting looking around and figuring it all out.
I know I have a steep learning curve ahead but I welcome the challenge. If I reg 'useless' domains, I can always try to develop them myself. I'm not investing a lot of cash and am keeping my portfolio small, just so I can learn and not lose a lot of money.
I look forward to chatting with you all around the forums.
