Cool to see 6 of my names in the list, now to see if they make it to the live auction.
Aces, Gaming, Marines, Navy, RaceTrack, StudPoker

Seems like they have a categorization problem in their system, everything is marked Category - Travel.

I got the same problem too. They marked my names under travel category

To answer a few questions from previous posts:

1. There is no fee to submit names, just a spreadsheet to fill out with information about each of the domains you are submitting. You get that form from the sales department at Moniker about two months before the auction date.
2. I believe that the next live T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference will be held in New York in June 2007 and would imagine that another auction will be held then as well.

Thanks for this information!

It's system wide, there isn't a single domain in the categories:

Activities/Interests
Automotive
Business
Careers
Community
Computing
Domains
Education
Electronics
Entertainment
Family

Maybe they listed them in Travel because of the .mobi extension: Mobile.

And I just checked my email from Moniker with the list attached and it says:

"Well, below is a partial list of domains."

So there may be more listed.

I have non travel .com and .org listed in travel category

Heres a punt, very very very few of the names listed have any chance of receiving even a sniff of interest.

obvious value with some, but if names like ewaterfrontusa get even *cough* from the crowd then I'll be a dutchman. In fact, ill move to Holland if it does.

Hmmm

I think there are some great names being offered at this Traffic auction.. at a closer look especially, these are gems - because, remember, most of the generics were reserved by the registry! There are alot of nice shorter names here..

As far as those who didn't get in, perhaps I imagine reserves must have been set very high..

This is great for us and Dot Mobi!

Kind Regards,

Yelo

Just let me know...I will introduce you to a realestate agent...

I have no clue what is going on here. For some reason they excluded ALL my domains, even though they were among the very best and had very reasonable reserves.
It seems like Moniker is making a mess of this. I'm trying to get at least Stocks.mobi in here yet.

Did you forward the paypal funds with your application?

Moniker will exclude domains with extremely high reserves. I suggest you get on the phone with your Moniker Exec (or Monte) to work things out

IMHO stocks.mobi would be one of the top .mobi's at this auction. A low reserve would certainly attract some big players.

If they like the name but they think the reserve is too high, they contact you to ask if you're willing to lower the reserve. They did that for one of the .coms I submitted (and I'm actually still not sure if it made it onto the list in the end anyway...I haven't scanned the whole list yet).

I would think they would have certainly done that for stocks.mobi!

Funny thing is, I refused to lower one reserve and it still made it in. Go figure...

My rep did tell me that not agreeing to a lower reserve wouldn't rule out the domain from being included, it would just make it less likely to get in. So I guess yours was good enough anyway... :tu:

Holy crap, I just got an email from Moniker:

Dear Domain Owner:

Congratulations! Your domain(s) has been selected as part of Monikerโ€™s Live and Silent Domain Auctions at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West in Las Vegas, March 5-8. If you havenโ€™t already done so, please review the master domain list to see the specific domain(s) selected...

The problem is I don't remember which domains I submitted??? And when I click the link to review the list it asks me for a password but they did not send me a password...
