europe.mobi is nice to have...but I think not in the top 10 ..(IMHO)

You've got to see it from the outside to appreciate it. Think of an American couple planning travel:

"Dear, where do you want to go on vacation this year? Oh, I don't know, there are so many choices, do you want to stay in the US or outside of the country? Let's travel abroad, how about Australia, the Caribbean, Mexico, China or Europe?"

For you it is an issue of national identity, but for us it is a tourist destination. I don't think I have ever Googled for US travel, but it probably makes sense to you.
