Focus on .com until you have made some sales
Read Namebio.com to see current sales
Sign up to DNJournal.com sales newsletter
Stay away from all the new GTLD's
Try not hand register names, look at expiring/drop lists and email existing domain owners looking for bargains
Dont get 50 names, try getting 2 or 3 names and then try and sell them and reinvest your money, this will prevent those massive yearly renewal fees
Ask questions on here if you want answers, lost of people are willing to help

its not really useful business as i thought it would be without marketing a domain after buying it and you need to have information on domain you will be selling with page rank and value....etc google and find out more information on selling domains.

Hi Vishal - welcome to NP. Besides the other great advice above, you should determine how much of your money you want to start with - this is an investment after all. Safest is buying a domain on the market - maybe even here in NP in the "Buy Domains" section - and look for value. Maybe someone is selling a domain name that you think has more value, like maybe you know a company with that name that is not using a good domain name for their website. If you start with just registering new domain names that have never been registered before, you should either know a company that may want it or develop a website for it in order to build traffic and links.

Welcome to the game! The domain industry is fun, exciting and some times addicting.

There already have been some great tips to get you started. As mentioned there is so much information on NamePros that you must take advantage and dedicate time daily to reading as much as you can.

Literally live in NameBio and study the recent sales, look at those domains and begin to learn why they sold and what factors do these domains have in common. This will help you with understanding the value of domains.

I suggest you spend at least a month or more studying up on the industry before you even by your domain. I know this will be tough but it is important to avoid just simply buying a name without any knowledge of the value of it.
