Help with installing Linux Mandrake

Could someone please help me to install Linux Mandrake?

im an administrator of 4 linux boxes

whats the prob? do you mean just getting it installed?

Hi, yes thats right. I need to install it on my Laptop....

are you installing from dvd?

its pretty simple to set up really

do you need to run another os along side it? like windows?
do you have all your data backed up?

its on a series of CD's. I want to replace windows with it.
When I started up the Laptop with the CD in it, nothing happened. I tried the autorun, but I can't get it to work because windows doesn't recognise the format.

right so its a sole linux installation? in that case it makes things easier. make sure though you have all your data off it because the drive will be repartitioned.

put cd1 into the drive. power off the laptop. turn the laptop on but keep tapping C

it should then say right ok ill boot from cd. if not you might need to go into the bios on the machine and change the boot priority, if you can.
