I'm not sure where to go, I have just purchased this program and have a couple questions, wondering if anyone can direct me to an illustrator forum, or if there is anyone on here who might be able to help. Have a couple simple questions.

First off, I'm toying with Vector and wondered what you save your image as to zoom in and make sure its true vector.

Second, is there a good place to find tutorials on how to draw images, are the symbols that are part of illustrator true vector images, and are fonts true vector images. Thanks in advance.

Good vector format is .ai which is native to illustrator ( and printer guys like it)
as for tuts, I don't know any special sites but hanging around a flash community would be good to get inspired and get the sence of vector style.
best of luck

there are tons of illustrator tutorials (written and video).
If you want to buy some training dvd for learn it - www.lynda.com is de best.

you should save the project as pdf\png. I'm sure he can deal with this.

So I have a couple fonts on this computer that have cartoon animals on them, does that mean the animal is vector? Sorry for the stupid questions.

Is there a place you know of to get free stuff for illustrator ? Like symbols, shapes etc.

bullynj: exactly, all font 'symbols' are vector, weather it is alphabetic text or symbols
