Help with Affiliate Website

Hello,

I own the domain HowtoHosting.com and was told that adding affiliate links on my site could prove more lucrative than selling the site outright.
However, I am relatively new to domaining so advice on setting up and building such a site would be most welcome.

Hosting affiliate programs tend to pay very well, sometimes $100 per new customer. And you will see many blogs using them, even http://www.enomcentral.com/ has what I presume is a hosting relationship with DreamHost.

But if you are new to creating a site and getting traffic to it, there is so much competition out there that I don't recommend the hosting niche for a beginner.

Regarding the domain, I reckon it is worth high $xx to low $xxx

To start building a website:

Find a niche that few are blogging about
Use WordPress
Network with everyone else in the niche (this is the key)
Write posts several times a week for many months

If after months you have traffic, say more than 50 per day, start monetising and learning SEO and SEM.

I would put hosting links anyway..even if you get 1-2 clicks per month with that revenue is absolutely worthy! And in the meantime you can improve your skills.
