For those that Sell Domain Names directly to End Users, do you recommend listing the domain names on Sedo (or Other Market Place) while contacting end users. Like send them directly to the Sedo Page(Or Other Market Place)?? Or do you prefer not involving Marketplaces for your private sales because of commissions costs? Please help. Thanks

I have thought about it but believe it is more trouble than is worth. Most users have never heard of Sedo and are generally turned off by it. For domains under $1000, I push the domain first and then ask for Paypal payment. Even if they don't have a Paypal account, everybody who uses the web has heard of Paypal

So you Give them the Domain Name Before they Even Pay For It? And you recommend to use Sedo if it's a $1K+ Sale?

I've found that Sedo seems to confuse a certain percentage of them. I think you're better off going with Paypal as suggested above or with Escrow.com (which is very newbie-friendly with excellent customer service and very clear instructions on their website.

Okay. Thanks Guys! That's is just what I was doing and it occured to me this morning to use Sedo. But seems that it's a bad idea to add Sedo to the equation.

Sedo is a good place to still list your domains because it's free and some endusers might find you through there, I just think you're better off handling any contact that you make with endusers yourself (eg. through phoning or emailing them) through other means than saying "Hey click this link to buy my domain".

Personally, I think if you put it on the market, you have a better chance of getting the 'end user'. I mean, someone might be making a news site, for example, and they are just looking up random news domains and come across yours and its the perfect one. But IMO, I think its the best route to go.
