Hi all!

I'm an ex-partner of a very large successful eBay (Titanium seller status) / online store company that sells consumer electronic; for the majority of their listings. This company takes in a few hundred payments a day via PayPal from customers that have bid and won auctions on the eBay account and store purchases.

During the course of the business and as an owner of the company, I've had the opportunity to keep and maintain customer records (Name, address, PayPal email address - where they made their payment from, etc. etc.)

Just recently, I decided that I wanted to be bought out from the company as I wanted to pursue my thing on my own. In my agreement, I am still able to keep my share of the customers as well, but I still have to stay there for another 2 months.

I have this massive list of customers; Names, Addresses, City, Phone#, PayPal email addresses, etc. from all over the United States and Canada that have purchased consumer electronics from our auction (and site). The problem is I don't know how or what the best way is to capitalize on this list.

I don't have a website of my own, I don't have any physical product of my own to sell, it's basically as if I'm starting from scratch again with nothing, except that I have this massive list of end users that have spent money on the internet.

I've read posts on this forum where people are / have been making 20k - 50k per month!? Doing what?!?

I'm not really looking to sell this list, but rather find a great opportunity to capitalize on it, whether is be an email marketing campaign, a website?? I don't know!! This is why I'm posting this message.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Dov

How about respecting their personal contact information instead of soliciting them?

If they didn't give you express permission to use their data for anything other than processing a sale, then legally (not to mention ethically) you can't "capitalize" on it.

Did I read that like I thought I did? You want to sell peoples emails, address, phone numbers, and paypal accounts. Thats INSAIN? They didn't even accept to have it stored for one, for another.. WTF? Phone numbers? You sell those they will get 50+ calls at 5AM in the morning.

Delete those.. Don't try to sell them.

If you try anything with them you will be up the creek.
If this had been opt-in, you would have had a goldmine beyond belief.

Be careful......... You need to do things for the RIGHT reasons. . .

Thank them for their previous business at most. Thank them for doing business with you and your previous company and let them know that you are moving into your new area (whatever you decide)and if they wish to visit give them your contact information or website that you will now be moving to and then allow them to opt and and become your long term client again.

HOWEVER..... if you did not obtain their information willingly you REALLY need to follow the advice given to you here. My advice comes only as if you had personally dealt with these people and have some form of relationship with you. If you were to contact them out of the blue they should know you.

They were your clients. You SHOULD have created a follow up system to begin with. If your starting a new business PM me and I can show you how to do it the RIGHT way from the start.

Your next step will be to attract new customers. Build your business from scratch and love doing it. Earn your clients. Work a business. Don't cheat yourself and find the get rich quick. It won't sustain itself. 1 client at a time my friend.

You are entitled to thank them at most. Don't sell them anything.
Don't Manipulate. Just thank them and invite them to follow you by their own accord.

Ask them to. But let them decide and have the ability to say no.

Maybe you now need to know that your one time clients should be lifetime clients but they must decide.

"Do the Right Thing". Always! :) :)
