Help on transfer...

Friend has a domain at Network Solutions that is about to expire. He wants to know if he can save money by transferring it to some other registrar at this point or is that not possible? If it is, who is the best to transfer it to? I have RJ's reseller deal at GoDaddy...He's not planning on selling it. It's for his site.

Please advise...

Yes, your friend will save a considerable amount by transferring away from Network Solutions. As long as its less than 3-4 days before expiration you should be able to do so with no problem.

You could transfer it to any of a number of companies. Your registermate discount account would work for it. My favorite is eNom.com which is where I'm transferring my NetSol names to right now. (And if you need an account -> http://www.namepros.com/enomsignup.php .) There's also namecheap.com, ev1servers.net, netcheap.com and many others. Just a matter of personal preference. Pick a registrar with the features you want. Go to that registrar and order a transfer. It will cost the price of a registration.

Also make sure your disable Domain Lock at Network Solutions before initiating a transfer.

Kinda related in a way, how do we Lock/UnLock names at NS? I just searched for I dont know how long and wasnt able to find a link in my Domain Man., are they trying to keep it a secret or something lol

It appears Net Sol have taken to fraud in order to protect their domains from being transferred out.

With regard .tv's, No push service, no transfer out, no internal transfer, locked domains...

Is it me or do they get more and more like the mafia every day??
