dappwatch.io

dappsearch.io

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
Dappfinder
You sort of said it yourself with the question so makes most sense to me ;)

Dappfinder or Dappsearch

DAppFinder.io (sounds like The App Finder, right?) is my first choice, great sounding and good aesthetics.
If you wanna go with a much shorter name and fewer syllables, then DAppFeed.io is my 2nd fav one.

Hope it helps. Good luck with your new venture! ;)

Personally I wouldn't broadcast domains that I was interested in buying. I might go register dappfinder.io right now and then sell it back to you for 5 times the price. :xf.grin:

None of them

Can I suggest dappy.io

Much shorter and memorable. And seemingly available.

Hmmm, it's possible GoDaddy was glitching, because looking at the who is data it looks like it might have already been registered.

*Edit* Yes, sorry. GoDaddy was listing it as available, but it wasn't.

I would go with AppDirectory.io or AppIndex.io which are both available for hand reg.

Best of luck with your venture!

DAppFinder.io (sounds like The App Finder, right?) is my first choice, great sounding and good aesthetics.
Personally I don't think it's great sounding since it's spelled differently than it sounds, and it's a three word .io that's not even spelled out properly. This is not how this extension is supposed to be used (.io is passable for one worders that are applicable to tech, otherwise stay with .com!). Don't start adding multiple words and play around with "creative" spelling in obscure extensions.

DAppFinder.io is, as you point out, a "The App Finder" sound alike, so instead of using an obscure British Indian Ocean Territory cctld "hack" of it, I think it would be better to just use the actual domain it sounds like in .com: TheAppFinder.com. I don't think it makes sense to use DAppFinder.IO when TheAppFinder.COM is freely available to hand register.

Only go with a .io if its a one word (dictionary word, not brandable, for brandables stick to .com) domain.

For me, I would choose the one which is more descriptive of how your site will work.

If you view it largely as a place to get short info about newly released or updated apps, then I think dappfeed is best.

If you view it as a place where one can search for example for an android app for (fill in blank), then I like dappfinder (or dappsearch, although for reasons I can't quite verbalize I prefer finder to search).

Are you absolutely locked into starting with the D? I wonder if it will weaken SEO. Like I would prefer TheAppFeed to DAppFeed.

Finally, have you considered a domain name using the .app extension that will be in general release in a few days? (copyright holder period has just ended with more registrations than any other ngTLD I think I recall hearing, about to start a few days of landrush).

Good luck with your site!

DApp also is short for decentralized application as this may be why they are using dapp instead of the app.

I was also thinking about

dappdata.io

I still canโ€™t decide what to pick,

I did find that the finder keyword is used a lot especially in for iconfinder a big icon company that might trademark their name โ€œfinderโ€

Arca, you did a great job with your feedback.
I personally went with the OP materials and chosen based on what he submitted.
I didn't even looked beyond that. Yes, personally I wouldn't go with any of them especially within the .io tld,
'DApp' or 'dapp' means nothing to me.

As you can see OP is still pushing towards the keyword 'dapp' so based on he submission those 2 were
better than the other ones imo.

Any other recommendations?
OP, can you please be more specific and enlightening us what does 'dapp' mean to you and why
you wanna use it?
