HELP!!! Host unreliable and downloading backup disruption

Hi everyone. I have www.its.asia and its not getting much traffic. Its been steady at 50 vistors/day 50-60.


My biggest problem---!

The home directory backup is over 2 GIGabyte. I have up to 1.5 MB/sec but my internet verizon is so slow these days. Its giving me like 300kilobits/second at best. My internet keep on getting disconnection every few hours.

I tried downloading the backup using download manager. But keep getting error that "you do not have valid permission" even though I have password and user name.

Is there some way to download it without being disconnected by server or my internet company. I was thinking using download manager for "resuming" purposes but keep getting error can't even download with download manager.

Hi Jack, thanks for responding, I am in the process of compressing that 2 GB right now. Not sure how small it will get. Hopefully under 300MB would be helpful.

I have downloaded the databases (2) of them and they were about 2-3 MB each.
I don't know why the full backup is 2 GB.

I have question. Is there a way to download with download managers? if so what are the configurations to allow it?

I have another problem if you know what this is:

This error can sometimes occur as a result of Suhosin / Hardened PHP being installed on your server. If you know that you have Suhosin running and you have access to the PHP configuration, try increasing the value of the following variables:
php_value suhosin.post.max_vars
php_value suhosin.request.max_vars

I tried to make some changes in VBulleting and get this error.

Many hosts will transfer it for free. Do you currently have cPanel?

Well I was able to delet that 2 GB of junk files.

And the total space was about 100MB...Had it shrinked to be about 13MB.

I am so relieved!

I was like...2.3 GB? When will this be over!???

Glad you got it all sorted out. You mite want to post a negitive review of your x host so others wont be fulled.

They were very responsive for a cheap host. And fast response too.

So for the price and quality services. Even though there were glitches. I think their response warranted positive reviews. If they had responded by not solving problem or do not know what's going on. That would be a different story.

Overal postive. However as the sites gets more visits. I am consider switching within a few months because they are unrealiable for something that has 50-60 visitors a day. Sad to say.
