Hello.

I found a few domains that I think are going to get some traffic (typos, different extensions of popular sites, etc) and I want to know 1. What site is best for domain tasting and 2. which of these sites has free statistic information that you don't have to buy hosting for just the domain and 3. how does domain tasting work.

THANKS!
I'm not exactly a domain name noobie but I guess this is something I haven't done yet so I think that this is the appropriate catagory.

Moniker's drop fee is 25 cents the last I checked. I would suggest pointing the domains to your parking service during the tasting period to get an idea of the traffic stats.

Dynadot also allow grace deletion and there is no fee whatsoever. You could taste large numbers of domains, either one after the other or in blocks. You get the full reg. fee credited back to your Dynadot Account if you decide to drop the name.

Reg. fees with Dynadot are $8.99 so could work out cheaper in the long run than Moniker if you taste and then drop most names. That $8.99 could allow you to taste tens of names before you find one that you think will earn its keep.

Please be aware that there are ICANN plans to end domain tasting. I'm not sure when, but do bear this in mind if you want to taste lots of domains at once as you may not be able to delete them in the future.

Matt.

Yes, it's $0.20 per name that you delete within the grace period.
