Hello!
My name is Alana and I live in Colorado. I would consider myself still a noob in the domaining world and so far I absolutely love it. A couple days ago I made my first domain sale on Sedo after several months of starting. It wasn't a very big sale, but it was one nonetheless. I started officially domaining in April of this year and quit my full time job in March. I would like to learn more about choosing good domains to sell and how to sell them effectively. I've already done quite a bit of reading so I have some idea of it.
I just finished my domain portfolio website and am content with how it looks so far. I would like to eventually work on the usability allowing people to sort and use filters and also allowing me to update domain information much more quickly rather than one domain at a time.
My goal for the next five years is to hopefully have a stable income from home so I don't have to go back to a 9 to 5, yuck! The first domain I purchased was actually not intended for domaining and was purchased back in 2009 when I was dabbling with learning how to build websites and learning how to blog but I ended up losing the domain last year because I pretty much forgot about it and ended up in the hands of another registrar. Apparently, it's worth more now than what I paid!
The reason I started investing in domains is because a friend had told me about it and said he was making a minimum of $1k/mo with it. He shared the process and I thought how simple it sounded. I decided I wanted to try it so I purchased about 10 or so domains brand new - big mistake - I have now learned!
Anyways, I hope to help others here as much as I can and share things i've learned. I also hope to make honest friends as well! Ok, thanks for reading my intro!
