Hi everyone,

I'm Zouhair from Agadir, Morocco. After spending weeks lurking and studying the mechanics of the market (WHOIS history, Archive.org patterns, and DotDB liquidations), I've decided to officially join the fray.

My current portfolio strategy is split between:

  1. Short Brandables: Currently holding Aksip.com (ex-HugeDomains).
  2. Geo-Service Outbound: Analyzing high-intent niches in the US.
I have one specific question for the veterans here: > For a 5L .com like Aksip, do you find that a "Liquid Price" auction on NamePros usually outperforms a long-term "Buy It Now" on Afternic in today's market?

Looking forward to the "roast" or the advice. Happy to be here!

Cheers,

Hello Zouhair, welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome, @internext ! With your PRO and Gold status, you've obviously seen a lot of market cycles. When you were first building your portfolio, did you focus more on quick liquidations to build bankroll, or were you strictly holding for end-users right out of the gate? Trying to find the perfect balance for my 5L .coms!

Hello Zouhair, welcome.
Appreciate it, @King ! Seeing that 'Large Portfolio' tag tells me your acquisition criteria must be razor-sharp. What is the #1 pattern or metric you look for before acquiring a short .com in today's market? Would love to hear your take.

Thanks for the welcome, @Domen ! Since you're an Established Member here, I'm curious: in your recent experience, are you seeing more end-user demand for short 5L brandables, or is the market strictly leaning towards exact-match keywords right now? Would love your insight!

Thank you for your questions.

For 5L with meaning is worth for end user. But not sure for random 5L. I would prefer to own 2 word combination in english and focus on .COM

Appreciate the welcome, Ali. Sticking strictly to the data – it's the only metric that matters. Glad to connect with an industry veteran.

Welcome zouhair!

If my experience is would advice you to keep yourself away from 5Ls right now and focus on 2 keywords .com in : tech/finance/ health industries only!

Try to make some quick flips here on namepros don't pay attention about profit now, now you are on learning step so try to educate your self and resel the domains at low profile so your resale chances gonna by high and keep learn from your wholesale sales ...

Happy Domaining!

Solid advice, Mr Naming. The data on 2-word .coms in those specific sectors is undeniable. I am currently liquidating my existing short-letter portfolio (including some 4Ls and 5Ls) at strict wholesale to clear funds for this exact pivot. Appreciate the insight from a veteran.

I’m not sure how strong that domain really is, but I had my 5l listed as a lease-to-own on Afternic for years at $4,888 with no success. After raising the price to $30,000, it ended up selling within seven months. So there’s definitely some luck involved. I’m pretty sure that same domain wouldn’t have sold for even $100 on NamePros, especially considering it was just a hand registration from 15 years ago.

Solid ROI, but holding a hand-reg for 15 years relying on luck isn't my model. I strictly prioritize Capital Velocity. Fast wholesale flips today fund my 2-word .com pivot. Cashflow over hope.

Appreciate the welcome, Corey. Skipping the theory and moving straight to execution. Dropping my first strict wholesale liquidation on the auction board shortly.
