I am curious....

When it comes to buying a E or I then dictionary word domain IE eGhost (dot) Com. What are the rules of thumbs or tips on these types of names?

Will the search engine still recognize the dictionary word?

There is supposedly a small seo benefit for emd domains, so there might be a little advantage in a domain such as icloud or ighost.

However, this advantage will be totally offset because such keywords as cloud and gost are ultra difficult to rank. Hence, the little advantage due to favorable anchor text will be negligible.

The main advantage of such domains is really their brandability, and for a buyer, seo considerations will have little weight in their decision.

i and e prefixes are a tad old fashioned these days. But I'd prefer eGhost.com rather than somethingGhost.com because it's a hell of a lot shorter and easier to remember It's quite rare to find an i or e prefix domain which sells for a good price, although some do. So I wouldn't go handregging a whole bunch of iNoun.com domains, hoping to make a short-term killing. As @aramyus has stated. The advantage of them is their brandability. You aren't restricted to using them strictly for a domain about spooks. But that's probably true for any Noun.com also. Or any domain, actually

Those sales are not impressive... So I wouldn't invest in such names unless I run into a solid keeper like eHost or eMoney etc... Which are usually not handregs...and the one name that sold for 4.9k was iyes.com. Honest a four letter that ends in yes would maybe sell with any letter at the start. Honestly it has nothing to do with I or e at the start. It's about you being able to choose the right keyword with it..

One of my first xxx$ sales was on a handreg I only held for a couple of months.. E-topic.com .. Also one of the first names I regged outside of my initial niche (gambling).

Pretty strong name, but dont like the hyphen. So was happy with it at the time. It was developed for a number of years, but back to being parked now I can see.

I personally like the 'e' or the 'i' prefixed in front of the name, but it all depends on the word that you put there. For any type of investment, chose carefully!

I certainly wouldn't go looking for ones that you could hand reg. All of the ones you'd want to invest in are already taken.
