"Stakeholders" includes some of the most ethically-challenged individuals that I've seen in the business. The thought of some of these schnooks having any input about how the DNS is maintained is absolutely astounding.

Transferring stewardship of IANA functions to the "multistakeholder community" is not at all in our best interests. Remember, some of these "stakeholders" have been spewing nothing but BS (mis-speak and lies) from day one. You want the trademark lobby having a greater say about which domains you're entitled to register, beyond existing trademark law? You want the current flock of ICANN-accredited registrars having a greater say about the drop process? If you check the personal portfolios of some of the owners of registrars, and registries, you'll see that, coincidentally, lots of prime names show up in those portfolios that never made it to an honest drop auction.

This transfer of "accountability" is like throwing chum in the water, then trying to convince us that they are merely feeding the fish. They are feeding the fish - to the sharks.
