I Have gotten several offers for shipx.com.....

But so far the highest one was 8500 (less afternic fee). I deemed these offers insufficient. But I do not know what an end-user should be expected to pay for it.

I've owned it since 1999.

I remember once checking it on estibot, but their estimate also struck me as too low.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for you help!

Did a bit of looking on Namebio:

https://namebio.com/?s==EDN0AzNwMTM

Names like hopex, dashx, goldx, bodyx all went for 3,000 to 7,500.

Then you have a few outliers that went for 10,000 to 20,000: growx, cardx

Small sample size to say the least... but I think we can surmise that $8,500 was more than reasonable as an offer. At the same time, shipping is big business, and this is a short and memorable name. I think that if you're willing to be very patient and do some leg work (reaching out to shipping companies), then you could get to five figures.

Have you reached out to any brokers? Could be worthwhile.

See if afternic can negotiate a higher price for you

I think the OP is correct to hold out especially because of FedEx

Shipx is a great name but in this rare instance I would rather have ShipEx

Nonetheless, its a great name and like @Joeguy1014 said.... shipping is big business.

I would ask 12k thinking 10k is the minimum I would want to have in hand. That could still be on the low end though because shipping and the word express could be very valuable.

That is a very good offer IMO due to how easily the spelling can be confused with ShipEx.com

Good luck with it though!

Considering ShipXpress has a tm on ShipX it might be good to take the offer. Good Luck

I like this domain, a good buy and it seems like you have a fair offer. I would offload it though as it's too similar to shipxpress and once they get wind of it, you'll struggle to sell.

I politely disagree.... market it to shipxpress for a good profit.

Not necessarily, trademarks are issued as a whole and this company has a misspell trademarked.

Xpress as opposed to express

X is a short form for express - that can easily be argued and express is a universal term.

I would pull an @uglydork on this one and try to market it for a good profit to the company that has the biggest use for the domain.

Interesting point you make - Hadn't considered the misspell

I don't think he needs to worry about TM, He's had the domain since '99, except shipxpress started at a time earlier than that, they're his best bet of getting something decent.
Good luck though.

Thank you all so far for the thoughtful comments. I got a lot out of it, and the negatives here may be most helpful. Still torn about this. Hmm... Shipx is a nice, very short name that (although the negatives give me worry), and it's hard to get a good replacement for it. is there really only that one company [shipxpress] that this name applies to?
