The first computer node-to-node info 'packets' were sent on this day, Oct. 29, 1969, from Los Angeles (UCLA) to Menlo Park, CA; the 3rd node in the network was in Santa Barbara, California.

The "Father of the Internet", Lawerence Kleinrock, is celebrating with a "Digital BOO! Internet Happy Birthday Costume Party".
