Hamster Breeder Website (Don't Laugh)- Please Review

I've been working hard at getting my website up and going. I think I have enough up to be reviewed. Please check out the Hamster link, then the male hamsters and the new window that opens when one is selected. I don't want continue in the same direction if something doesn't make sense or is just bad.

I am sorry I came running when I saw the thread for your site on the homepage. I had to come and check it out. Even with a few quite chuckles(sorry).

Overall design is great and I like that you gave some background into the breeding of your hamsters etc.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have put ALOT of time into it. I've been learning Photoshop CS2, Dreamweaver 8 and HTML all simultaneously. It's taking me a long time to get it up but that's partly due to the time it takes to learn all the programs. I can't take much credit for the rotating images, I bought the javascript and then paid a member here to write the PHP for me.

Since it has taken so long and I've been looking at the same thing for all this time (making me quite biased/blind), I want to be sure something doesn't suck before I take the time to build the rest of the pages and add the rest of the animals. I'm glad to know I'm on the right track.

I have been thinking of adding an intro page (if that's the right term) with an image, vignette to the background color and a "click here to enter site" (no flash) just to give it a more formal appearance. I don't see as many of those intro pages anymore though, so are they something that is losing favor?

Thank you for taking me seriously. I know the content is a bit out of the ordinary and I get alot of smiles and raised eyebrows when I tell people about my hobby. I hope that my website will reflect the dedication I've put into breeding and I hope to build a strong reputation from it.

God this is why I love the net. So We can know there are things out there other than our little ole world.

But really Shows? So is it anything similiar like the dog and cat shows? Just curious on what goes on.

Edit: I just went back to your site and viewed you pages on your hamsters. Wow you even have the pedigree and pics of the parents. I most likely will blog your site. This is a bloggable site.

FAQ.html <<< Some pages are .html and some are .php

It doesn't matters but if possible make everything .php even .html can be outputted as .php

The FAQ section is missing something seriously.

I really like the colour selection and the design is pleasing. One comment-but I realize it is my personal preference for a centered alignment for the page.

Janice, your website and the effort you've put into it is very impressive! I love the site. I had many hamsters as a child, I love all the pictures you have put up, so adorable! I think the design and content are both excellent! Keep at it!

Thank you for the additional reviews. To address nick mayhem, the links that you were referring to haven't been completed- I just used "filler" links (mostly ones I created using some tutorials while learning Dreamweaver). Those will be completed before I have my official launch, I just didn't want to take the time to create them if something needed to be changed with my basic layout.

I like the idea of having everything centered in the browser, I just don't know how to do it. I'll have to look into that. I'm using layers (<div>) for everything if that makes a difference or not?

Blog? I'm not really up on blogging having never viewed one but if it makes people smile, go ahead! Send me the link too please. *NOTE*- I'm a hamster/gerbil breeder, not a hamster/gerbil hider!

P/S- The hamsters and gerbil shows are just like dog and cat shows and just as political if you can believe it! The gerbil side is much worse, not to offend anyone, but it has more of a housewives with a cause kind of feel.
