Thank you for your request to list whitevote.net on the GreatDomains Web site.
We have carefully reviewed your listing request, and while we agree there is
value in your domain name, we have elected not to list it on our site. We are
only listing specific types of domains at this time and we regret that we are
unable to list yours.

They refused to list my whitevote.net name on their site
But I noticed that they do have a blackvote.net. listed.

I feel discriminated against. This is so unfair and makes no sense at all.
I am going to call an attorney in the morning...>:(

Lets all make a stand and not bother trying to list/sell with NotSoGreatDomains.com and just market them elsewhere.
Commercial pressures will then hopefully make them ,have a major re-think of the listing policy.

Sounds good to me.

hehe a super funny post, props to you all !!! Really tho yeah they are looking at profitability and maybe, just maybe blackvote can be used for a non racist site where whitevote would 99% be used for a neo nazi site. BUT if google adsense is fair, they should be putting the same ads on either site because money is only GREEN!!!. So to sum it up, greatdomains should have both because they are both capable of pulling in the same income potential. So I hope the white site gets in haha this is great :) But if it was my choice, neither site would get on the list.

They admitted that the domain has value but still they refuse to lsit it, when it i stheir business to do so. THat's jsut insane.

That’s a form letter response they send for every rejected domain.

Why? Is it becasue you too have bought into the lie that being racism against whites is not really racism but just "the right thing to do"?

Racism does not descriminate.

No, not at all!

It’s because I really think this was posted as a joke and I think texasgamer is laughing at everyone who’s taking this so seriously and I was not being facetious when I wrote that I think it’s funny because I think it might be one of the funniest posts and reactions I’ve ever seen.

I hope you're kidding about that, otherwise I feel sorry for...myself for ever entering this thread.

Bah. A very generic email for any domain name that isn't approved. Also, as Gene said, there really isn't much value in that name compared to the other one.

Perhaps they didn't make the decision based on racial prejudice but on business grounds? Many companies will avoid placing involving themselves in anything that might prove to be controversial.

Lets say the name has value and sells for a high price on their system. Someone out there will take offence at it and they will catch the fallout for it being on their system? Perhaps it's not simply not worth the potential negative publicity for whatever they might make off the deal.

Here is a thought....maybe you should submit the name in a market where "Whites" are a minority......also should experience living for a year atleast in a country where whites are a minority........

Before complaining about racism, everyone should atleast get a first hand feel by living as a minority.....

Well sorry, no offense to you but I don't think that it is a laughing matter to be perfectly honest with you. Some of us have some very stong feelings about the whole race issue as we have lived with racism all out lives. I don't take the issue lightly and I don't think it's funny at all. You think it's funny? Ask every person who has had the "pleasure" of being a victim of racism and having their dreams (among other things) shattered because the color of their skin wasn't "the right color".

Furthermore it appears that this thread is best in the off-topic sectoins, especially if it is supposed to be the sad joke it is. Not to mention that, especially if it is a joke, GreatDomains probably would not take kindly to this thread once they find out about it as it degrades their character and image - joke or not. Not one serious business would want their name attached to "racism" whether they are racist or not. If anyone has a chance at a lawsuit here, it's GreatDomains, for sure. And I would not blame them for pursuing it, racist or not.

I do. Everyday. IN AMERICA!

You think that "minority" means that you are less in number? Get a clue, man. Racism exists everywhere you go no matter what color of skin you have and no matter what color of skin the true majority (in #) holds.

Yes, that's exactly what it means. If he should get a clue then you should get a dictionary.

The issue of racism is not a laughing matter. The issue of race in regards to a top level domain is simply ridiculous and in the case comical.

Well the whole thing has pretty much been explained there is no real push from the government or anyone else to get the white vote. There is a push for minority votes whether it be black or hispanic (which are the largest minorities) in the US, which could give the blackvote domain a higher value. Personally I don't think the whitevote or blackvote domains are that great, but if I had to pick one it would definitely be blackvote for now.

White domains (non-racist) could become popular in the near future though since I notice a lot of people are feeling the reverse discrimination that is part of the US. I agree there is a lot of discrimination towards whites more specifically the non-rich whites.

I have an example for you guys, I'm a hispanic and when I was younger (pre-teen years) I was denied some government help because I wasn't a black hispanic. I was classified as a white hispanic due to my skin color. The funny thing is I told them I was a black hispanic (I'm not) and just off of my word they accepted me into the program. I think now they changed a lot of things where all hispanics are basically classified the same.

In general the laws are made to protect the minorities and not the majority in this country. A lot of American's are taking notice. I'm a minority and even I take notice. The good thing about me being a minority is I can make a big stink about this stuff and never get accused of being racist (I'm not) and a white American does the same thing and they are a racist. The reason I say it's good is because I can speak my mind, but I do feel bad for those that have to keep their mouths shut for fear of being called a racist. I have a lot of black friends and most of my friends (offline) are hispanic and I make these same points to them and some agree, they just won't say anything because it benefits them.

This is a great topic (off-shoot of the original topic) too bad it's in the wrong section and can be a potentially heated discussion.

By the way reversediscrimination.us is available anyone that wants to get in on the ground floor on this. :)

Actually, I don't think Great Domains should have listed either of those domains. Instead, they would have been a lot smarter to list ElectionResults.tv, truly a magnificent, highly valuable 1st tier domain. :hehe:

Let me know how it goes...I'm submitting VoteHouse.com.

If they reject it I'm calling HUD and NFHA

Yet, since I am of the Caucasian race, I am treated like a second class citizen, even though I or my whole family did nothing at all to deserve it. Sad, but true...

Discrimination against white folks is just as wrong as discriminating against any other race. Bottom line: affirmative action, etc. should be based on class, not race. A poor white guy should have the same shot at special benefits and considerations as poor black guy, or a poor Asian guy, etc.

Affirmative action--and other programs like it--is demeaning and patronizing, because it assumes that all Blacks are not capable of making the grade, and that all Blacks need special consideraration, which is simply a bunch of nonsense.

BTW: was this thread serious or not? :)

first of all, it is their website and they have complete right to reject to list a domain :) Second of all, they might not want to list the same type of domain such as blackvote.com and then whitevote.com (same concept) but blackvote is more popular :) so i dont think there is a racism there
