Depends on what high school you go to. I graduated from Berwick Academy (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berwick_Academy) and my sophomore year was the most difficult, and not just because of the transitions between high schools. Prep schools are a lot harder than you're average high schoo (workloads, requirements, athletics, student-teacher interactivity, etc.), and I've attended both. Now its college, at the (public) University of New Hampshire, studying business administration.

College seems better, although the material can be harder. I think it seems better because you're focusing on subjects and material that is interesting to you, not a plethora of subjects and busy work.
As for the exams, every professor is different. For some people, cramming at the end of the semester works, but the idea of an examination is to gather what you''ve
actually learned over the course of that semester, to see if you've gained enough knowledge to continue on to bigger and better things.
