wow, just came back from my grade 8 graduation!!! IT WAS AWSOME!!! the ceremony was alright... but the dance was amazing!!! I dont know why im posting this lol. It kinda sucks though that we will probably not talk to each other again because next year is high school, so that sucks

Here in Scotland year 8 is the first year of secondary school but in England year 7 is first year.

It seems so long ago . Just remember do not waste your time at school, I effectively walked out of school with very little qualifications and have regretted it ever since.

I'm in the states, so we start high school at grade 9, same as you. Anyway, in my experience 9-11 was a joke, 12th grade is what was difficult.

My school was out 5 weeks ago..

The problem is that I will be going to the 7th best highschool in the US and I have to take summer school to be another year ahead.

(I couldn't find the actual Newsweek list it was in, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suncoast_High_School says it was #7. )

In Canada (Ontario for sure), school ends mid-end of June and opens early September. In the US, they open in early-mid August.

I actually think the Junior Year is the worst. Senior Year, unless you really messed up, you can act lazy (just make sure you pass). Junior Year is when the SATs and colleges are involved the most.

As previously mentioned, Grade 9 and 10 is a joke. In all honesty, Grade 9 was by far the best year of my life. This may have been largely due to me having the house to myself, disregarding my older sibling. These two coming years are the last time you can slack off. Grade 11 and 12 will be insane in terms of workload, while in the latter year all-nighters become a routinely habit. Take my advice; enjoy these years as much as I did!

I could've been in calculus in 9th except my middle school is a year behind some other schools here.

Each week of summer school is the same as 6 weeks of regular school. :o
