Grace Period for Refunding Domain Name

Is there any grace period for cancelling and getting a refund for domain registration? Like a typo?

Each registrar has a different policy. You need to read the ToS of the Registrar used. The maximum period is usually 5 days. Sometimes the refund is predicated on how many refunds the Registrar has had that month for that TLD. So naturally the earlier in the month you request the refund, the more chances of success you have.

The problem with this sort of thing is that it encourages registrations undertaken for the purpose of attempting a quick sale, and then letting the name go if it does not sell in that period.

This actually used to be a "thing" in the early days. There was a period of time when you could register a domain name by sending an email template to Network Solutions. They would register the domain name and then issue an invoice with a 30 day payment deadline. So domain speculators would register domains, and then hang onto them unpaid for as long as it took for Netsol to delete the registrations.

GoDaddy gives you like 48 hours (2 days), so far I did not require that refund.
I double check the domain name like 5 times before paying for the registration.
