Been in communication with a buyer who enquiried via my ParkingPanel page for the domain LearnToTrade()net. He made an offer of $200 after I asked him what's the maximum that he'd be willing to pay.

Apparently he just bought the domain www.learn-to-trade.net and want to redo that site with some original investment research. Didn't really plan to sell this name at this stage because I can see it has potential for a enduser. He says in the email that he's not a corporate buyer.

How much would you value this name at? What would you do?

I think it's a reasonable offer for a 3 word .net name.

I would take the money.

It's not everyday I can see an end user/ high end reseller for a relatively okay-good 3 word .net names.

Best wishes :)

I'd take the money unless I have plans for developing it.

Thx.

well done!
$200 is a good price to sell

If you have plans to develop it, then you shouldn't be tempted by $200 offer. But if you are only going to resell then you should take the offer and run. :)

I understand why you dont want to sell the domain for only $200. I think you could sell the domain mid xxx to resellers and you could fetch a very nice offer if you find a End User in the Forex/Stocks brokers branch.

I agree with Mrdomainman that it's not a bad offer for a 3-worder .net
Take the money unless you intend to develop the name.

Thanks to all for their comments. I will consider in the next 24 hours what I will do with this name.

This would be the 1st time I've really sold a name if I do decide to sell as I've just been acquiring names, besides selling some cheap few dollar names before. What would be the way you would complete the transaction? Would you guys just do the transaction via Paypal using his own funds in the account? Just want to make sure I'm protected even though it's a $200 transaction.

some people here reccomend waiting 72 hrs after receiving paypal to do the transfer, i am unsure why , it musti be a 100% clearance of funds thing ? i am sure someone else will define it better than i can , so far i have had no troubles with paypal , some people only use escrow .....

Just an update, I've managed to get him up to $350, I replied:

Thanks for the offer of $200, but I feel that it's a bit low for me to consider selling this name. I would consider selling it for $350 as this name has a lot of potential to it. Also, any transaction fees in the payment method, if any, to be paid by the buyer.

To which he said:

If $350 is OK please respond via network solutions.

Firstly, what would be the best way of handling the transaction? I thought Network Solutions was a domain registration company. How can the transaction be done with them? Would you suggest doing it via Paypal or Escrow.com?

Secondly, been doing a bit of research on this guy. He said his main site is http://www.fundpickr.com. Did a Google search on his name, it seems that he's the Director of Research of TheStreet.com

Even though he said he's not a corporate buyer, do you think he might be?

Yes, great job negotiating up. I think you're pretty much locked in to the $350 price now, though. Like others have said, $350 is a good price even if it is a corporate buyer. Good work!
