Hey all. I’m the owner of GoogleMaps.xyz

It’s taken in over 260+ Extensions.

Where would we price this at?

So because you're only extorting a few hundred bucks it makes it okay?

If you're selling it for more than you paid for it, you're profitting. It's extremely clear-cut.

If you're going to continue this type of practice, at least own it. Accept that you're perfectly okay with profitting via unethical and borderline illegal actions. But I would suggest keeping a low profile (i.e. not posting about it on a forum).

Listen, I think your overreacting abit. Google is perfectly ok selling our information and profiting from it etc, but no I’m the big bad huh. Besides, I didn’t register the domain to sell it to google, they just happen to be a potential buyer. Maybe they won’t buy it.

I registered it because it’s quite cool, google owns pretty much all other extensions of this domain so the .xyz is the only third party owned one.

Heck, when I was starting out I sold the name AppleSale(com). That one may not be quite as blatantly bad as GoogleMaps, but it was still wrong. I posted about it in the forum... I justified it up and down... I argued with all the experienced members who were trying to help me. Basically I was a dumbass; but I see that now and I strive to be better.
