Are the google search results any indication of whether a domain will get a lot, or no pure typeins?

get a lot? what? google search results helped in the value of a domain the more links found there on the domain the more activity and value it may have. also page ranking, real activity of the site itself and constant update are some short listed way of getting a lot of value or visitors or whatever you want to mean by getting a lot. I hope I can help you more if you become specific with your question. :)

not unless you end up on first or on the first page of search results or your links indexed are higher than your competition.

thats the difficult part, but if a new tech appear, and there s not many results for that keyword, it will be easier to be well ranked than for a generic product like 'pills' 'cars' or anything similar

yeah the more generic the keywords used for your domain the harder it will be landing on the first page, because of the number of competitors using that keyword. using a tool like goodkeywords.com will help you see the results of the site for that keyword on google.

lets say there are 11,000,000 search results for my domain. yes it might be harder to get the number 1 spot but also doesnt that mean that because so many people are searching for it, that more are likely to do a straight type in?
