Google is number 2

Was doing a search for "Search" today, and noticed this... Thought it was funny so wanted to share:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I think major search engines do not list their sites at #1'st position ;)
just try searching the same keyword at yahoo, live ... and you'll see the result

On yahoo they list altavista as first for the same term, but AV is actually owned by Yahoo...

Pretty nice, however they did it. They even rank four places higher than Google does, and they have over 2 million links from .edu TLDs. It probably has more to do with the anchor text those links use, right?

Yeah, they offer a free search tool to place on your site, and guess that a ton of websites are using it, with a link back. Its pretty amazing that they managed to beat out the big 3.

Someone mentioned this in another thread a few days ago: http://www.namepros.com/search-engines/289692-nice-google-im-feeling-lucky.html There are also some other interesting "I Am Feeling Lucky" results in that thread.

A statcounter like idea.

When they supply the free search thing to the sites. they are baiting their links.

Same thing is with statcounter it is PR 10 because most of the people who use statcounter are in real also giving a sitewide link to the statcounter site.

Why does google need to be #1 if your on google? Kind of pointless, your already on their site. Thats like a ice cream site saying that they say their the best in the business when clearly they are not... ;)
