Introducing the Google Mini

A Google search puts the Web’s information at your fingertips. The Google Mini does the same thing for your website or corporate intranet. Designed for small and medium-sized businesses, the Google Mini is a hardware and software search appliance that offers your company the power and productivity of Google search.

The Google Mini:

* Indexes and searches up to 50,000 documents.
* Works with more than 220 different file formats, including HTML, PDF, Microsoft Office and WordPerfect.
* Is easy to set up and requires minimal ongoing administration.
* Costs $4,995 for all hardware and software, including a year of support and hardware replacement coverage.

Just point the Google Mini at your content, add a search box to your website and you’re set. The Mini crawls your content and creates a master index of documents ready for instant retrieval whenever an employee or customer types in a search query. It's that simple to make your public website or intranet as easy to search as Google.com.

yeh I agree with what someone has already said in this post, if their target market is small businesses how they hell would they afford this, or why would they want it with only 50,000. Although these would be very useful maybe the price needs a drop dramaticly.

Ha yes mac mini's are cool I want one!

Heh, does anyone remember the PlayBoy interview of the Google creators? They said the reason why Lycos and other search engines didn't do well was because they got too far away from search engines - their original intent. Google is moving away from their simple web search into this God awful marketing, let's see how much crap we can sell thing. They still have something to do with searching, but their Hello.Com thing, this, and everything else they've started working on... Well, at least Google is reliable =P Unlike Yahoo and Microsoft. Let's just hope they stay that way.
