I just did a search for iphone on Google. iphone.com comes up 9th on the list and it does not appear to be owned by Apple or Cisco. It has VOIP content on the site.

Maybe because it's a developed site and clearly doesn't violate their trademark it was left in?

I don't see anything wrong with that. It's bound to happen.

Maybe it's just me thinking this way.

Wonder if that effects my i-phone.in?

When I searched for iphone, I saw iphone.com listed on the first page. It was not an Apple site but it looked legit enough to exist there.

everythingiphone.com also doesn't look like it is owned by Apple, but it is still indexed.

It's not just you ;)

Does anyone see a domain missing that was previously listed ? Most of these domains are still new anyway .... I doubt many had time to be crawled at this point.

You're right. That article is a pile of disinformation.

it is not right for google to enforce copyright on how they are indexed.

It doesn't make sense, I don't think Google is doing this. Apple couldn't have requested it as they don't have a TM to enforce. Cisco could have, but why would they? People aren't registering the domains to infringe on Cisco's TM, they want to take advantage of Apple's hype. And if Cisco wanted people to stop using the domains, they would just have their attorney's write letters to the domain holder's. That would create a lot less negative publicity for Google and for them.

The guy doesnt know what he's talking about.
The site was just not indexed, it wasnt taken out of the index by-hand.

I dont think google has done this, he searched a few domains and found them not to be indexed, not surprising. But if you search site: iphone there are 75 million urls with iphone in them and like 100 million results for iphone. Dont think it happened. Google doesnt even give into court subpoenas I doubt theyd give into apple.

This ain't happening. You guys can't just assume a U.S. Trademark is valid all over the world. There are several companies in Europe named iPhone or companies selling products named iPhone.

I'm from Norway and here we have a company named iPhone who is selling broadband telephony and IP-Telephony from wireless networks. www.iphone.no. This company was established several years ago.
